Location: Sevenoaks
Contract Duration: 4 Days
Soil Nails Installed: 46
Area Treated: 77m2
Design and build to stabilise and protect a vertical sandstone face following failure of the existing brick retaining wall. We were commissioned by the loss adjusters Cunningham Lindsey to stabilise an 8m high vertical sandstone face following the collapse of the existing brick retaining wall and to provide a suitable facing to replace the brickwork. 46 soil nails each 5m long were installed with a geotextile and structural mesh to support the face. A 500mm gabion facing basket was then formed and attached to the nails using a double plate system to form a 70 degree slope. The front baskets were constructed and filled in 1m lifts, from the bottom up, to enable filling of the front baskets and the void behind, which reduced as the build progressed
