What are Retaining Walls?

Retaining walls are relatively rigid walls used for supporting soil laterally so that it can be retained at different levels on the two sides.

Retaining walls are engineered structures designed to hold soil in place on slopes where it would not naturally stay, typically steep, near-vertical, or vertical inclines. These walls are essential for managing soil between two different elevations, particularly in terrains with challenging slopes or where the landscape must be significantly altered and engineered for specific uses, such as hillside farming or roadway overpasses.
